Happy Birthday, Daniel!!

My hansom hubby had a birthday this past weekend. He has been working 72+ hours a week for the past three months and has not had a full weekend off in about that long. So, I can not even tell you how excited we were when we found out he was going to have not only one but TWO days in a row off this weekend! WoooHooo! I think that might have been the best present for his birthday!

We celebrated with a day full of family time. That morning, Daniel took Dylan to Lowe's to their Build and Grow clinic. They built a little wooden school bus. Dylan was sooooo excited for Daniel to take him. Poor little guy has been stuck with me taking him this whole summer. After that, my mom took us to lunch for Daniel favorite food, sushi. Then, we just came home and relaxed and visited with my mom. I cooked one of Daniel's favorite meals for dinner. The kids "surprised" Daniel with a cake after dinner. Dylan picked the flavor and color of the icing. He also told me what to write. The cake read "Super Daddy... Happy 25th Birthday". It was not what I would have made if I were choosing, but I knew it would mean a lot to Daniel that Dylan picked everything out, and it meant a lot to Dylan too. Daniel loved the cake and the kids were so excited to give it to him.

After dinner, we took my mom back to her house. Even though we weren't really planning on it, we stayed and hung out for a good while. The weather was beautiful, so we let the kids run around and play while the adults had some great conversation on the patio.

Daniel's favorite dessert is a canoli, so I suprised him with some for a evening snack.

I think London Lou liked them too!

My handsom little man

Daniel and I decided to show the kids how to do a wheelbarrow race. The kids thought it was the greatest thing ever!
Daniel and Dylan won by a land slide.

Us girls got tired, and decided to take a rest!

Beautiful Days

We had a couple of days last week where the tempeture stayed in the 80s. After a month of being in triple digits, we felt like it was fall with those kind of temps! The kids and I spent lots andd lots of time outside playing for those two days. Too bad its back in the triples this week!

Dylan enjoyed lots of basketball. He can't wait to play in the fall.

We got the side walk chalk out, but London thought it was much more fun to color herself than it was to color the ground!

She also thought it taste very yummy!

Bus Boy

Dylan got to ride the bus home for the first time last week. He loved it! He will mostly be picked up by me, but its nice to know he is able to ride it, if ever need be.

Dylan is a Kindergartener!

I always cook Dylan a special breakfast for the first day of school. I asked him what he wanted this year and he said pancakes. I figured out late last night that I didn't have eggs, and the mix I use requires them. I couldn't not make the pancakes though, so I set my alarm for 5:30am so that I could go to the store and be back before he woke up at 6:15. I made it home in time, and Dylan was thrilled with his "name pancakes", and has no clue what all went into making them. ha! It was all so very worth it! Giving up 30 minutes of sleep is nothing to see that smile on my little man's face!

I planned for all of us to be ready 10 minutes early so I could snap 10 million pictures. I promised Dylan that I would be fast, as long as he would LOOK AT THE CAMERA! ha! He always wants to look anywhere but the camera, but he did a great job and I did my best to hold up my end of the bargin too!
